Mr. Siegel was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on September 8, 1954. Before moving to the United States with his family, Mr. Siegel lived in Haiti until the age of three years and Puerto Rico until the age of six years. Thereafter, Mr. Siegel was raised on Long Island, New York, through his high school graduation in 1972.
After his high school graduation, Mr. Siegel enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served therein as an avionics technician on the F-111B. Mr. Siegel began his college education by taking his freshman and sophomore years at the University of Colorado, while working full time as an instrument technician for the National Bureau of Standards and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, in Boulder, Colorado.
He then attended his junior and senior years of college and, in May of 1983, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arizona. In September of 1983, Mr. Siegel was admitted to law school at the University of California at Berkley (Boalt Hall). He graduated in the top one third of his class in May of 1986. Upon his graduation from law school, Mr. Siegel was employed as an associate in the trusts and estates department of Gray, Cary, Ames, and Frye in San Diego, California. He later worked for approximately one and one half years as a trial attorney for the Office of District Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service in San Diego. Immediately prior to beginning his solo practice in 1990, Mr. Siegel was employed as an estate planner for a small boutique tax and business law firm catering to wealthy Central and South Americans doing business in the United States.
In 1990, Mr. Siegel began his solo practice and emphasized all aspects of trusts and estates, including conservatorships, estate planning, trust administration, descendant’s estate administration, and litigation, and disputed tax matters. Mr. Siegel has been certified as a specialist in probate, trust, and estate planning from the State Bar of California. In January of 2003, Mr. Siegel formed his partnership with Lewis M. Wolensky, The Law Office of Boris Siegel. The partnership continues to provide legal services in the same areas as Mr. Siegel’s prior solo practice, but with a greater emphasis in trust and estate litigation, with an emphasis in real estate litigation.
Mr. Siegel currently resides in northern San Diego County with his wife of over thirty years and his two minor children. He also has three adult children and a son who passed away at the age of 15 years in 1993.
